“No South African Should Attack Anyone From Our Sister African Countries” — President Ramaphosa

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has called for peace and unity among Africans, urging citizens not to target or attack nationals from other African countries living in South Africa.

Speaking ahead of the June 30 deadline issued for undocumented foreign nationals to leave the country, Ramaphosa stressed that violence, intimidation, and xenophobic attacks have no place in South African society.

“No South African should attack anyone from our sister African countries,” the President said, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the strong bonds that unite African nations.

Ramaphosa acknowledged concerns around immigration and border control but insisted that such issues must be addressed through lawful and humane processes rather than through hostility or violence against foreign nationals.

His remarks come amid growing tensions and renewed debates over migration, employment, and public services in parts of the country. The President urged citizens to respect the rule of law while promoting peace, coexistence, and African solidarity.

He reiterated that South Africa remains committed to working with neighboring countries to address migration challenges while protecting the rights and dignity of all people living within its borders.
