Taylor Swift and Disney have unveiled the official music video for Swift’s new Toy Story 5 track, “I Knew It, I Knew You.” Released on Friday, the video combines nostalgic scenes from the first four Toy Story films, featuring beloved characters such as Woody, Jessie, and the rest of the toy gang, while Swift’s heartfelt country-inspired song plays throughout.
Fans can now watch the full music video on Spotify and Apple Music, while Taylor Nation shared a preview clip on X to celebrate the release.
The song marks a return to Swift’s country roots and reunites her with longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff, who co-wrote the track. The production embraces a classic country sound, featuring banjo, mandolin, and harmonica, evoking the style that first introduced Swift to audiences years ago.
Speaking about the project on Instagram, Swift described the experience as both familiar and refreshing.
“Writing this song felt like a musical departure and coming home at the same time,” she wrote. “Creating something for Jessie was a new challenge and also felt like second nature all at once. And being a Toy Story kid from the age of five until now is an adventure I plan to be on—to infinity and beyond.”
“I Knew It, I Knew You” is Swift’s first new song since the release of her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, last year.
Meanwhile, Toy Story 5 is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on June 19 and is among Disney’s most highly anticipated releases of the year. The film will explore a modern-day challenge faced by traditional toys as children increasingly turn to digital devices and technology for entertainment, creating a timely story for today’s generation.
