Video: Joy as Boko Haram Releases 416 Women and Children Abducted in Ngoshe, Borno State

Relief and celebration have swept through Ngoshe community in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State following the release of 416 women and children who were abducted by Boko Haram terrorists earlier this year.

The victims were kidnapped during a deadly attack on Ngoshe, a border community near Cameroon, where insurgents stormed the area and took hundreds of residents into captivity. The mass abduction sparked national concern and drew widespread calls for urgent action to secure their freedom.

Images emerging after their release show emotional scenes as families reunite with loved ones after months of uncertainty and fear. Women were seen embracing relatives, while children appeared relieved to finally return home.

Community leaders, humanitarian groups, and residents have expressed gratitude to all parties involved in facilitating the release, describing it as a significant moment of hope for families affected by the insurgency.

The release marks a positive development in a case that had generated widespread anxiety after Boko Haram reportedly threatened the lives of the captives and demanded a ransom for their freedom.

While the return of the victims has been celebrated, stakeholders continue to call for stronger security measures to protect vulnerable communities in Borno State and prevent future attacks.

Authorities are expected to provide medical care, psychological support, and rehabilitation services to help the released women and children recover from their traumatic experience and reintegrate into their communities.
